During the day, Jessica is hard at work in the lab. At night, she spikes her hair and turns into a hardcore derby girl.

Career goal: Research scientist/college professor

When I'm 50  I will be tenured.

When you have 30 minutes of free time, how do you pass the time? Playing with my dogs and cat.

Favorite Morgantown restaurant? Atomic Grill.

Fictional character who is most like you? I would like to think Daenerys Targaryen ("Game of Thrones"), but it’s more likely Amy Farrah Fowler ("Big Bang Theory").

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? I just got back from South Africa (amazing!). Trying to figure out where I want to go next!

What couldn’t you live without? My pets and my husband.

Quote to live by?

You can do anything for two minutes.

Most valuable skill: Deductive reasoning and problem solving.

Person you’ve met during your time here who has had the biggest impact on you? My husband, Chris.

What about any hidden talents? I'm killer at making floral arrangements and I hand embroider. (I'm really a 50's house wife at heart.)

Jessica
& WVU

Why did you choose to come to WVU? Came for the forensic science program, stayed for the people and the quality education.

When I'm on campus, you can most likely find me  in my lab at the HSC.

If you could only visit one more place on campus, where would you go?  The Downtown Library. I love the old historic part and the view from the top floor is pretty amazing.

When you come to visit campus, you must visit  the Lair, it's the heart of the campus.

Why is WVU special to you?

It feels like home. I get really sad whenever I think about leaving after graduation.

What advice would you give to a student thinking of coming to WVU?Find your niche. It's a huge campus, with lots of people. Find that group that you mesh with, whether its a sports club, the kids on your floor in Towers, or your O. Chem study group, having a group of people you can count on makes college so much better.

Best thing about college life? All the new people you meet.

Worst thing about college life? Having to eat your own cooking.
